Chloes x Chicago
Our fourth stop of the Chloe Capital National Tour swept us into Chicago, IL! The Chloes took over Salt Flats in partnership with our Chicago City Champions, Sixense Strategy and FinFoundHer. Together we hosted stellar programming for investors and founders designed to move more capital to women-led innovation companies. Congratulations to Riana Lynn, Co-founder and CEO of Journey Foods for receiving our next $100,000 investment. Her AI-based foodtech is a game changer.
The nutrition dilemma is a $600B problem
Journey Foods is a platform and reporting interface that makes foods more nutritious, and healthy foods more affordable. Farmers, hospitals, and corporate wellness researchers now have the power to create targeted micro foods for their customers. Journey Foods uses artificial intelligence to research and suggest ingredients that target everything from digestion to brain function. Smarter research and development is the key.
Teams of biologists and scientists continuously update Journey Foods with new data. Machine learning algorithms analyze, track and log different combinations of nutritious ingredients for supply chain optimization. This results in super fast and efficient R&D.
Bite-sized science
Journey Foods is already bringing on-the-go nutrition to the masses. Riana and her team of scientists, innovators, and food lovers created a nutrient database and tested everything from fruit cultures, to seaweed. They used the Journey Foods platform and interface to develop nutrient-dense fruit snacks. These revenue-generating prototypes or “beta snacks” are from the farm, made with love (and bots). Journey Bites are selling online worldwide.
Five women-led innovation companies were chosen out of 1,500 applicants from across the U. All finalists will have access to our national network of co-investors, mentors and business professionals.

Chloe Capital National Tour
Chloe Capital is a seed-stage venture capital firm that invests in women-led innovation companies. We’re holding investing workshops and pitch events across the U.S. Our initiatives support local women entrepreneurs, and empower local investors to take action.
Why is this important?
Studies show that diverse teams with women at the helm grow faster and produce higher returns for investors. Women-led tech companies receive less than 5% of all venture capital in the U.S., while just .2% goes to African American female founders. Chloe Capital will make our investment decisions based on merit, without bias, providing investors with an opportunity to Do Well by Doing Good.
What makes this different?
Chloe Capital works with Event Champions to encourage qualifying women entrepreneurs to apply, and select the best of the best with proper due diligence BEFORE the women pitch. Collaboration continues as Chloe Capital works with Event Champions to open doors, and drive business results after the investment. These efforts best position the company for achieving success and delivering a healthy return on investment. Boston Champions join Chloe Capital in providing meaningful connections from their extensive business and funding contacts.
Chloe Capital’s mission is to decrease the gender gap in entrepreneurship and venture capital. We further this mission by providing women entrepreneurs across the U.S. with mentorship, connections to resources and access to capital.
Founded by three women tech-trepreneurs, Chloe Capital launched during our inaugural Women Investors Accelerator in October 2017. The program united women founders with women investors, who joined Chloe Capital in making our first investment in Mi Padrino.
Since, Chloe Capital has helped Mi Padrino raise an additional $2 million in funding by connecting the founder with investors including Astia Angels and the XOGroup.
Off the heels of this success, City Champions from across the U.S. reached out to Chloe Capital, requesting we bring the experience to their ecosystems. What better way to beat the drum about this cause than to go on tour and collaborate with these leaders in innovation. Together, we’re attracting top talent, inspiring investors to join the movement, and building a genuine community that supports women entrepreneurs.
ICYMI – Chloe Capital announced our first investment of the tour at the Rochester Women Investors Forum. Congratulations to Caroline and Christine Strzalka, co-founders of It’s By U! Gemma Sole and Amanda Curtis, co-founders of Nineteenth Amendment, received our second investment during the Boston Women Investors Forum. And Sarah Tuneburg, Co-founder and CEO of Geospiza, was announced as our third investment during the Denver Women Investors Forum.
How do I get involved?
Accredited women and men who support the movement can attend an exclusive dinner and workshop on April 3-4, 2019 in Chicago, IL. The investor dinner is invite-only. Connect with us to receive the registration code : info@chloecapital.com
Accredited individuals and sponsors interested in learning more about joining this movement can contact us : chloecapital.com/contact
Women-led innovation companies that missed the deadline for Chicago can apply to pitch in Binghamton, our final stop on the Chloe Capital Nation Tour. Applications close on March 1, 2019 : chloecapital.com/tour
What kind of companies does Chloe Capital invest in?
Chloe Capital focuses on innovation companies with macro potential, a validated prototype and at least one female in the C-Suite. Innovation companies include frontier tech, cleantech and agtech. In addition, companies with diverse leadership teams that include a tech leader, and revenue and/or contracts secured with clients/customers will rise to the top of our list.
Can I still participate in the pitch event if I don’t have a frontier tech company?
While Chloe Capital does not invest Food & Beverage and Consumer Product companies at this time, non-tech enabled companies can apply to be event vendors. These companies will receive visibility through event promotions, as well as the opportunity to meet our investors, judges and advisors. Express your interest in being an event vendor at chloecapital.com/contact
Where else will Chloe Capital be holding events?
Binghamton, NY – May 1, 2019
What’s next for Chloe Capital after the National Tour?

As our mentors say, we’re “rich with opportunity.” In addition to helping our new portfolio companies drive business after our investment, Chloe Capital is speaking with several partners on new ways to advance solutions to the gender gap in entrepreneurship.
