FOUNDER FELLOWSHIP
NEW YORK 2027

What’s happening:

Chloe Capital is hosting a three-month accelerator for tech founders from underrepresented and historically marginalized backgrounds who are actively raising a Seed – Series A round. This marks Chloe Capital’s fifth year partnering with the New York City Economic Development Corporation as one of four organizations selected to operate an accelerator within the Founder Fellowship, a program dedicated to supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs building tech and tech-enabled businesses across New York City. Fifteen companies from New York City will be selected to participate in Chloe Capital’s cohort.

Who we’re seeking:

Chloe Capital’s Founder Fellowship is seeking 15 NYC-based companies to join the 2027 cohort. We’re looking for founders from underrepresented backgrounds who are building innovative technology solutions across Energy, Workforce, and Health. Selected companies will join a competitive cohort designed to connect ambitious founders with the capital, community, and resources to help them fundraise.

What we’re offering:

The Chloe Capital Founder Fellowship is built to give ambitious founders access to the capital, connections, and resources they need to fundraise. Fellows will have access to funding opportunities, hands-on mentorship and coaching, investor introductions, peer connections, curated networking, and educational programming delivered through a mix of virtual and in-person experiences.

And the support doesn’t end with the program. Every fellow receives lifetime access to Chloe Capital’s national resource database and a custom Growth Kit featuring dozens of discounted services to help move their company forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

To be eligible for the Fellowship program, at least one founder is required to live within the 5 boroughs of NYC. However, Chloe Capital invests nationally and anyone can apply for direct funding opportunities outside of this accelerator.

Chloe Capital’s program is a hybrid of virtual and a few mandatory in-person days for workshops, networking, and investment pitches. The program takes place between March and June with all in-person days taking place in NYC.

Chloe Capital is committed to investing a minimum of $300,000 in at least three companies. Companies will be considered for investment upon successful completion of the program. In addition, each founder will gain access to Chloe Capital’s global network of investors.

Terms vary depending on what round the startups have open and whether there’s a lead investor in place for the round. If we lead the round, we typically use convertible notes.

Applicants will apply through a central application for the founder fellowship and will be able to select their top choice programs. The four operators will work together with NYCEDC to make final decisions regarding the cohort for each partner organization.

No, any founder can apply. In an effort to support diversity and inclusiveness in gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, thought, culture, and economic experience, we encourage all founders to apply.

Incorporation is not a requirement to apply for the Founder Fellowship – however, each operator is supporting companies at different stages – so we encourage you to select the one that meets the stage of your company when you apply.

TIMELINE

March

Prep | Building the foundation. The fellowship kicks off with an introduction to the program, investment opportunities, and the founders who will make up the 2027 cohort. Throughout March, founders will begin working with Chloe Capital’s team and mentors to identify their fundraising goals, refine their investor story, and create individualized plans for the months ahead. Founders will also participate in an exclusive luncheon, live pitch deck reviews, and peer group sessions designed to strengthen their materials and prepare for investor conversations. The month will culminate in preparation for April’s investor speed networking experience.

April

Practice | Putting your story into action. April focuses on pitch practice, investor research, and building confidence as founders prepare to engage with investors. Founders will participate in an investor speed networking experience, learn strategies for securing a lead investor, and work through pitch practice sessions with their peers. Additional programming with Chloe Capital supporters will provide founders with practical insights, resources, and connections to support their fundraising journey. A dedicated Founder Focus Week will also give founders time to put what they’ve learned into practice and make meaningful progress on their businesses.

May

Pitch | Taking the Stage. May is all about putting the preparation and practice to work. Founders will continue to strengthen their pitches through targeted sessions, curated programming, and peer feedback before coming together for a final virtual preparation session ahead of the Chloe Showcase. At the in-person showcase, founders will have the opportunity to pitch their companies directly to investors and strategic partners, expand their networks, and gain valuable feedback and visibility.

June

Progress | Staying strong. The fellowship concludes with a final founder session focused on reflecting on the experience, sharing lessons learned, and identifying next steps. Founders will have an opportunity to discuss the challenges they encountered throughout the program, exchange insights with their peers, and access additional resources from Chloe Capital. The final session and survey will help capture founder feedback and inform how we continue to support the cohort beyond the fellowship.
