Chloe Capital and ECMC Foundation;

Actress Suzanne Cryer Joins Movement to Invest In Women

LOS ANGELES, CA October 30, 2019

For Immediate Release

Los Angeles (November 6, 2019) — “The needles barely budge but it’s getting better, firms like Chloe Capital are changing things,” said Suzanne Cryer, Actress, HBO Silicon Valley. “But we do need to think about where we are, why we are here, how can we change and where we want to be?” HBO star Suzanne Cryer is paving the way forward as she conveys a passionate message of how women are positively disruptive. Suzanne surrenders her emotional intelligence as Laurie Bream, playing a venture capitalist in HBO’s Silicon Valley.

Five women entrepreneurs left an impact at The GRAMMY Museum® at L.A. LIVE, in Los Angeles, CA, October 30, 2019. ECMC Foundation, a national foundation working to improve postsecondary outcomes, and Chloe Capital, a new breed of venture capitalist banded together to fund female founders nationally. In LA, women entrepreneurs pitched live for up to $250,000 during the first in a trilogy to #InvestInWomen: Future of Work & Education.

“Congratulations to all of the finalist who pitched on stage for their leadership in education and workforce transformation,” said Jessica Haselton, Director of Education Innovation Ventures, ECMC Foundation. “We are excited to announce an investment opportunity in InScribe, led by Katy Kappler and Ana Hernandez, who are creating online communities for learners to access resources, get questions answered and share knowledge with one another. We are proud to be partnering with InScribe on this important effort.”

“Los Angeles experienced the presence of the Movement to #InvestinWomen at The GRAMMY Museum® at L.A. LIVE. Congratulations to NODE Eco for receiving an investment from Chloe Capital! Co-founder/CEO, Bec Chapin, and her team are building sustainable homes fast. Delivering beautiful homes with a guaranteed price, while activating a new workforce.” said Kathryn Cartini, Partner, Chloe Capital. “We enjoyed an evening with great LA community supporters, amazing speaker firesides, and a fantastic keynote featuring Suzanne Cryer, an actress on HBO’s Silicon Valley.”

Nationally, we are leading a Movement to decrease the gender gap in entrepreneurship for women entrepreneurs. During this eventful time, ECMC Foundation, Chloe Capital, and event sponsors: Michelson 20MM Foundation, Employment Technology Fund (ETF@JFFLabs), and LearnLaunch lead the Movement forward by investing in women. Including LA investors panel: Amon Anderson, Director, Acumen America; Isabelle Hau, Partner, Omidyar Network; Shauntel Garvey, Co-founder, Reach Capital; Jordan Wahbeh, Partner, Bay Angels, and Diana Ingram, Board Member, ECMC Foundation, strengthen the culture to #InvestInWomen.

“It’s a wrap in LA; next stop New Orleans! The finalists delivered stellar pitches and will continue to have access to our community. This collaboration with ECMC Foundation is fundamental at a time where only 2% of all venture capital investment goes to women-led ventures,” added Elisa Miller-Out, Managing Partner, Chloe Capital. “Congratulations Bec Chapin, Katy Kappler and Ana Hernandez, welcome to the ECMC Foundation and Chloe family!”

Chloe Capital will continue to drive business to the finalist by tapping into its national network of 10,000 founders, investors and community leaders. Leading companies, including HubSpot for Startups, Google for Startups, TriNet, Cooley LLP, Astia Angels, Dawnbreaker, Lady Engineer, Mackenzie Hughes, Lakelet Strategy, Next Wave Impact, Peacock Media, Singlebrook, Social Venture Circle, SUNY RF, and Women2.0 are already paying it forward to support female founders.
