Five Women-led tech companies to pitch for funding; One will receive an investment from Chloe Capital

January 3, 2019

(RELEASE) Boston, MA – On Friday, January 11th, 2019, five of the top women-led tech companies in Massachusetts and New York State will present their businesses to a room full of investors and community leaders during the Boston Women Investors Forum (ChloeCapital.com/tour-boston). We invite all media representatives to join us in shining a light on the movement for equality in entrepreneurship.

Meetcaregivers, Nineteenth Amendment, ResourceVerified, Visit.org and WorkAround Online (descriptions below) were selected from a national pool of over 1000 applicants. One of these companies will receive a $100,000 investment from Chloe Capital. The winner will be chosen during a pitch event from 6 – 9 PM at the Cambridge Innovation Center. Supportive male allies are welcome and encouraged to join us. Tickets are on sale at CHLOESboston.eventbrite.com.

According to Pitchbook, female founders receive only two percent of all venture capital in the U.S. In stark contrast, companies run by all male leadership teams received 79 percent of the $85 billion that VCs invested last year. On January 11, Chloe Capital, in partnership with our City Champions, aims to help women entrepreneurs with funding, connections and mentorship.

“Despite recent progress, women-led companies are going unnoticed. Yet studies show companies with diverse leadership teams grow faster and produce higher returns for investors,” said Elisa Miller-Out, Founding Partner at Chloe Capital. “We’re excited to bring this movement to Boston.”

“Our mission is to advance solutions to the gender gap in entrepreneurship, added Chloe Capital Partner Kathryn Cartini. “We further this mission by investing in women-led companies, increasing the number of women investors at the table, and uniting a genuine community committed to supporting women.

Prior to the pitch event, accredited investors and women leaders from the five companies will connect for an invite-only Investor Dinner and Workshop. World-class speakers will lead enrichment programs focused on localized investing in women leading innovation. Featured speakers include management consultant, economist and investor, Barbara Clarke. Clarke is a founding member of Astia Angels, and on the investment committees of Portfolia and Rising Tide Europe 3 (RTE3). Accredited individuals interested in attending the Investor Dinner and Workshop can reach out to Chloe Capital for an invite at info@ChloeCapital.com.
