🩺 What They Do: At the core of MyLÚA Health’s mission is driving better women’s health outcomes and advancing health equity through their comprehensive digital platform. An AI virtual assistant, LÚA, acts as a trusted guide for women across all life stages – providing culturally-attuned insights on fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, mental wellness and more. Their platform also features The Village – an interactive community that connects women with peers and experts for support. For health plans and employers, MyLÚA offers advanced analytics to understand population needs and coordinate personalized care between providers, payers, and members – taking an inclusive, evidence-based approach powered by empathetic AI solutions.
🩺 Why They Do It: MyLÚA Health was established after Co-Founder Uleea Santos’ traumatic birthing experience, where she was denied pain medication. This brought awareness to the disparities in the maternal care system, especially within their own communities as founders of color. They gained validation from maternal healthcare stakeholders, ultimately driving them to provide culturally inclusive, precision medicine for women’s health broadly. MyLÚA is a platform designed to simplify wellness, prioritize personalized care, and create a community where women feel seen, heard, and empowered.
🩺 How We Met: Chloe Capital was first introduced to the MyLÚA Health team at Upstate Venture Connect’s Unleashed Founder’s Retreat through a mutual connection, Anthony DeBonis, President of Troy Web Consulting. They subsequently joined the inaugural cohort of the NYCEDC Founder Fellowship where the team joined 20 other startups for investor connections, mentoring, and educational programming. At the conclusion of the program, MyLÚA Health was one of the outstanding companies we chose to invest in.
🩺 Chloe Effect: Michael calls out Chloe Capital’s “deep connections throughout the startup ecosystem” and access to impactful opportunities such as probono legal support, additional funding opportunities, and “a supportive Slack community of other founders/alumni” as key enablers for their growth. In return, Michael and the MyLÚA Health team actively participate in founder discussions and share opportunities with the Chloe community.
🩺 What is Next for MyLÚA Health: MyLÚA Health was recently awarded a grand prize in the NIH RADx Tech for Maternal Health Challenge where their product was successfully piloted in a clinical setting by the Atlanta Center for Microsystems Engineered Point-of-Care Technologies (ACME), a partnership between Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a component of the NIH-funded Point of Care Technologies Research Network (POCTRN). As they continue to pursue culturally inclusive, FDA approved, software-as-a-medical device, their product will be commercially available to users in Q1 of 2025.
